Birthday Month

Bry and I have birthday's two weeks a part so we always have a pretty fun month of September. For Bry's Bday I had a picnic out on our back deck at sunset...it was really fun and romantic except that Kehnley kept dropping mashed potatoes all over me :) And then she got pretty mad that I was taking her pic while she danced around with food all over her...

She's like "you better not take another picture of me..."

Bry's bday was Wednesday, so over he weekend was when Ike hit... we didn't have power so we couldn't have a party obviously! We had the fam come over the next Saturday. Luckily we moved it because other wise Jen, JB and Justin couldn't have helped me put Bry' gift together. (Side note to the ladies out there: don't buy something you have to put together the day of a party you plan on using the item... also, make sure it's NOT a table tennis set because it comes in 1 billion parts...literally, it will take all day and night and two crews) After my first crew left and me and Jen gave up, Josh and the dads worked to finish it. We had a good night and a VERY Bryson-esk desert I made called Campground Brownie Pie

It was a brownie bottom with pudding like layer over the top and marshmallows, caramel, chocolate chips, pecans and chocolate drizzled on the top. It was definitely a choco-over load!

He's happy and yet really scared of that large candle...

Family photo with the birthday boy, baby's acting silly.

Nicole came in town too!

So our garage needs a cleaning session (my weekend plans) but at least the table is standing... let the tournaments begin!

Ode to Bryson

You're on time
and I'm always late
you're so patient
I'm sorry I make you wait
You cuddle me and pray for me
you're such a great friend
I love your jeans and polos
what a stylish trend
You love sports radio
magazines or TV
You even know celeb gossip
way much more than me
I know you inside and out
there's nothing I don't adore
I even know at every restaurant
what you will probably order
We can do just about anything
or nothing, that's cool too
All I know is I laugh so hard
when it's just me and you
You’re smart your kind
giving and full of love
You’re strong and wise
everything I’ve ever dreamed of
God has blessed me
With such an amazing man
It’s like He’s right there holding me
when you hold my hand
I've loved you almost a decade
but that's still not long at all
Every time I look at you
the more in love I fall.

I love you

Silly Sick

I am sure it's expected that I would probably blog about Ike because that's what just happened and it's been so huge that it kept our power off for almost a week and we have been somewhat refugees spending the days and nights at our parents and all over the place. We ate dinner in the bathroom while Kehnley look her baths by flashlight... our home was totally fine, nothing as damaged, we were so blessed. SO I am not going to blog about that. What I am going to blog about is the saddest thing that I have to deal with every few months, and I am sure many moms would agree, ..........a sick baby!

Especially at her age! She can't tell me what's wrong, she can't tell me what she needs... it's so sad to see her little face because when you look at her it just says "I don't feel good mommy!"

Last night she was up all night wheezing and scared Bry and I to death when she was gasping for air to breath. So this morning I took off work, took her to the doc. Her fancy came and went with us.

Prescription: fluids, rest, Tylenol, steam shower in a small room, suction and saline.... so Kehnley and I spend the whole day napping and reading and watching cartoons!

when she's sick she loves my body pillow

Moving moving mania

We moved into our new home a few weeks ago, it's hard to believe that it's been that long already! It was the week work was starting back for me, and we decided we wanted to paint the house before we got furniture in it... lets just say I haven't been that exhausted in a long time. Bry and I both were just zombies for the few weeks prior to the move. So many people came to help us! We realized then and there just how blessed we are that even though we haven't been back in houston but a few years, we have so many good freinds in our lives and our family is so giving that they just couldn't WAIT to help us! Nathan was a life saver! We wouldn't have painted walls in most ofhte house if it weren't for him! One of the nights Bry and him stayed almost all night!

It was REALLY late at night in this pic... don't judge us!

Taping under the bar
(we saw a LOT of blue tape that week)

But even through all that, and dragging Kehnley around and getting to bed late and everything... it really was fun to do it together!

My new tub!!... sorry, OUR new tub

Here's how it all looked from the begining....

Home isn't Home without Farmer Cad!

We even met our new neighbors on the first day! Missy and Spensor, and we have known this couple for a long time, Kristin and Russ King live across the street! They came to the house the first night and it was so great to know our neighbors already! More about that later...

Well, my Ten Minutes is up!! I will leave you with a pic of Kehnley's new favorite place to be!

Once she gets out that back door it's hard to get her back inside
