Feb Fast Vol. 3!

Delightful weekend... I hosted a table at the lady's Delight
Dinner at my church. You choose a scripture to base your
table off of and then you can invited friends or have open
spots to let ladies come and eat dinner and then we have
a time of worship and a speaker. A lot of the men at the
church serve the meal. It's always a really great night to
fellowship and grow and just see some cool creative women
at their best! Well, it was something I have done the past
three years ad this year I had my verse decided early. It's
Isaiah 43:18 "Forget the former things, do not dwell in the
past. See I am doing a new thing, don't you see it? I am
making streams in the wastelands and rivers in the desert."

My table had a marshmallow tree in the middle and real
sticks and daisies and a kind of an outdoor pic-nick feel to it.
I was really excited to share this verse with so many of my
good friends who were able to come. I wanted to encourage
them with what I felt God was sharing with me... to keep my
mind focused on the future hope I have in Christ and not on
things that are behind me. God can make something out of
nothing and He has given me great joy to keep trusting in
the future. I learned from the speaker that night, Jeanette
Cliff George: who is ridiculously funny and confident in her
imperfections.... that God has very different but grander
plans for our lives than we can imagine... not a new concept,
but one that in different seasons of life can mean new and
wonderful things. Here are some images from that night...

The Next morning I was able to experience an awesome thing....I had a chance to run with my two all time favorite running buddies Jen and Ans. It was a really casual fun run. The rodeo 5k actually. I had a great time and was GENUINELY shocked to see Bry and Kehnley
and Terry a few blocks from the finish line... this face is REALLY in shock!!

Of course we had to get our post-run snack on, pics with the fans and a tumble in on Kehnley's fav. public art hangout in Houston...

There's a Fast February for you, it sure flew by!

My Passion is this little babe with sandy waves...

How did I get so blessed to have this sweetness in my life, holding my hand, calling my name and laughing along side me?

Even on days when she is fussy and tired and throwing everything I give her to try and ease her mood... all I can think about is her sweet kisses, her wave bye-bye, her attempt to jump like a bunny but can't get off the ground, and her head resting on my shoulder nuzzled under my chin. I love it when she reaches for my face to rub my cheeks and says "aw" just like I do to her.

And when she plays in her house out back and knocks on the window with the back of her hand instead of the front calling out "na-na" (knock knock) "ew-is-ee" (who is it) and pokes her head out at me.

"Every good and perfect gift is from above, coming down from the Father of the heavenly lights, who does not change like shifting shadows." James 1:17

She IS a good and perfect gift and with every new day, every new moment she learns how to live in this life... I learn how to love more deeply, trust more fully, and wait more patiently on the Lord.

Recipie Swap

Southern Stuffed Rosemary Chicken
Ingredients
2 (6-oz.) packages cornbread stuffing mix
(OR i just used left over dressing from thanksgiving OR i just make my own stuffing with cornbread mix and celery and whatever else i like in stuffing, you can use chicken broth for this)
1 large egg, lightly beaten
1/2 cup finely chopped pecans, toasted
8 skinned and boned chicken breasts
1 tablespoon chopped fresh rosemary
1 teaspoon salt
1/2 teaspoon pepper
1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese
1 cup chicken broth
Garnish: fresh rosemary sprigs
Preparation
1. Prepare stuffing mix according to package directions, and let cool. Stir in egg and pecans.
2. Butterfly chicken breasts by making a lengthwise cut in 1 side, cutting to but not through the opposite side; unfold. Spoon stuffing mixture evenly down center of one side of each butterflied chicken breast; fold opposite side over stuffing, and place in a lightly greased baking dish. Stir together 3 Tbsp. olive oil and chopped rosemary; brush evenly over chicken. Sprinkle chicken evenly with salt, pepper, and Parmesan cheese.
3. Bake chicken, uncovered, at 400° for 20 minutes or until done.
4. garnish with fresh Rosemary
I love this recipe and Bry loves it too, it's become a new family fav this year! YUM-O Enjoy!
PS. this recipe first called for a mushroom sauce to put on top... Bry told me ten years ago when we first stared dating that he was allergic to mushrooms... since we've been married i have found that it was a lie (he just hates them and knew i would want him o try them if he hadn't told me he was allergic) SOOOO... i make it withOUT the mushrooms :) and it's JUST as good.

Coupon Mom

So I don't typically watch Oprah, but my babysitter (aka: my mom aka: Kehnley's Fancy) recorded it for me. It was all about saving money and thrifty living which is the tag line for 09 in the Blowey Household.... okay well I did go buy some stuff at Banana.. but I got REALLY good sales. (the shopping press ends there) so yeah... Oprah... saving... okay back on track. Several things were amazing and you should go to www.Oprah.com and click on Tuesday and see for yourself. If you are a spending addict like myself it will help you out SO much! I am learned quickly how merciful God is in letting us learn the lessons now and how much I need His provision in EVERYTHING! So there was this mom on the show who saves TONS of money at the grocery store which for a growing family , hopefully in numbers not laterally.... is one of the biggest expenses. She has saved $ 72,000 in 15 years at the grocery store with just 30 minutes a day and a little bit of organization. She is my hero. Here is her website... www.couponmom.com

It's free and it's going to change my life!! I will let you know how the first trip to the grocery store goes in two weeks on this woman's plan!

"Command those who are rich in this present world not to be arrogant nor to put their hope in wealth, which is so uncertain, but to put their hope in God, who richly provides us with everything for our enjoyment. Command them to do good, to be rich in good deeds, and to be generous and willing to share. In this way they will lay up treasure for themselves as a firm foundation for the coming age, so that they may take hold of the life that is truly life."
1 Timothy 6:17-19
