Stop and Smell the Roses

Kehnley is now 18 months old... she is a VERY expressive little girl, sometimes I forget that she is just a baby still. She is so sure of herself and so smart and she has atitude in everything that she does. She give the best kisses....and I mean for everything and everyone. She makes a dramatic "muaw" noice when she gives them, or sometimes if she's being sneeky she just purses those lips and leans in... if you are lucky you will see it coming and meet her half way and she smiles.

She knows what "say cheese means" and she poses for a pic!

She said the following words over thanksgiving weekend... she is just now sarting to really use her words and she signs for food, outside, dada, hi ( and says the word especially to Lilly) more, no no, bird.

she said Jussy ( for justin)

Papa ( for my dad)

Da-di instead of dada

Mama

No Ma'am

No No (can you tell it's her favorite word)

Three ( she was counting with a bird on TV)

she makes all animal noises my new favorite is for a turtle... it's "durth durth durth" which means "turtle turtle turtle" like Bry and I say it.

Jew (juice)

Dee (drink)

Uh-ew ( uh oh)

Pree ( pretty, said only for flowers)

She always makes the surprised sound when she sees something she really likes

Wow Wow- said for a dog, or when she slips and falls or watches Wow Wow Wubsey (sp)

Here she is smelling flowers, something I had to do all the time for weeks to keep her from picking all the blooms off the flowers in our backyard, she finally caught on and LOVES to do it.

SNOWWW WAY!

I was home sick with a serious sinus infection and ear ache, my head and body was hurting so bad I thought I had the flu. Kehnley had the sniffles all day as well. We both decided it was a fine time to take a nap... the house was a cave, the only light was the dim glow of the Christmas three... I just love having no lights on in the house but the tree... it was windy and freezing outside. Let the napping begin! After a few hours we both woke up and I was getting Ms. Sniffles McEye Rub out of bed and I saw it... SNOW!!!! I stared jumping up and down and Kehnley joined me.. not sure what the excitement was, but once I said the words "outside" she was getting her shoes. Needless we say we needed a lot more on than just shoes. Twenty minutes and three layers of shirt, fleece pants, fleece Jacket, changed socks... oh wait, gotta change the diaper, off comes the fleece pants, off comes the socks ( she pulled them off on the changing table) over head goes the fleece jacket, she is screaming b/c it's stuck on her head... i pull the fleece jacket back down, change the diaper, redress the toes and the legs... AND NOW we are out the door. camera CHECK, hat (mine not hers) CHECK, shoes.... "Kehnley, why did you take off your shoes sweetie, we have to wear shoes to go outside." She grabs a cracker and out we go...

Noses running as fast as our legs to feel he snow that's falling from the sky.

Say Bye-Bye Kehnley, time to go inside!

And when we came in.. Kehnley stole my strawberry Popsicle... It was a great day to be home sick.

At least she did share a little of it with me after she was done... ok off to bed, hope I get feeling better so I can get us all outfitted for our Christmas pic. (this year's is FULL of HIDDEN, TACKY surprises!)

It make me ache hold my own baby more!! Pour Kehnley kept getting pretty jealous of all the attention going toward this sweet baby... she made sure to sit in my lap the whole time I was holding Ms. Kayt just to make sure everyone knew who belonged to her, little miss priss.

Se actually told Kandace "no ma'am" tonight lol.

PS. the Tree and Christmas Decoration Extravaganza at our house has been going on for way too long... I am still not done ( and yet I am distracted by blogging!) shocking!

Yeayy we found it!! This is the one...So TALL!

Just a little sneeky peaky of what I added to our tree... I love going though all the ornaments, so many memories... this pic is from our couples shower.

What was cool was, as I was decorating our tree I had the TV on the Christmas music station... and it was a blessing to get to worship Christ and the joy He brought to His people on that quiet, dark night.

The house is semi-clean, we have spent the last 48 hrs eating and as most are probably doing... I am planning my next week with eaters remorse and trying to figure out how I can feed my family but keep myself from eating ( NOTHING looks good to eat after thanksgiving). i am jammin out to the new Coldplay cd Prospect March I bought it for Bry as a surprise to put in his cd player with a sticky note that reads (thanks to Lyndz) "the weather is cold, play me for a little warming up on your way to work." He's going to freak because he doesn't even know that they had an edition added to heir new album out (and he is ALWAYS on top that kind of stuff)

So like I said I am jamming out to the new cd, mainly to drown out the crying i hear through the bathroom wall which backs up to Kehnley's room... she has been crying for 15 minutes, I put her into bed for a nap totally asleep and she is crying because she doesn't want to be there. I am in agony, i think it's the hardest thing I have had to do yet as a parent, i know it will get harder as the years go by with all the things that children go through... and it's something that I have to fight for. I know it's what's best for everyone, even if it's not the easiest. I rock, I hold, I sing, I cuddle... but as some point she HAS to get used to her bed or it will just get worse... so here I sit trying not to go into the room, watching her on the video monitor throw her pillow out, lay down, sit up, lay down, puller her dress over he head, rub her eyes... and cry.

I will stay strong...

Megan posted this on her blog and I think it looks like fun and a great idea. It's an open house but blogger style. Count me in! More to come about this.

Actually that's on the "to do list" is to get the Christmas decor out and get going...

Something that I was reminded of this morning, after all the flour settled from the thanksgiving feasting.... we have a feast with the Lord that is coming. It's going to be all we are hoping and waiting for and enduring for. It will be the sweetest meal, to just drink Him in, taste how good His many blessings are. It will be more filling to see Him in His glory than any thing on earth we could ever eat. Do we plan and fast and wait and anticipate THAT meal? When Christ will be the host? When He will call us to the table to rejoice in reuniting with Him? I don't think I will or want to look at any meal the same again.

Kehnley is sleeping soundly in her bed.... it only took 30 minutes. Thank you Jesus.

What a show...

Finally I have some pics from Kiki's Halloween... she was a very fat lady bug!

I tried to find a lady bug outfit myself, but apparently everything that wasn't scandalous was taken and so Jen let me borrow her very popular from last year bee costume.... Kehnley wouldn't get dressed in her outfit til me and Lilly had ours on first. Even then she screamed for the first 30 minutes. BUT soon she loved it and it as torture to try and take it off... even now if I open the closet and she sees the costume she wants me to get it down.

Bry was a bee keeper, and he carried around a jar of honey all night lol.

Lilly hated her costume... and I totally gave in and gave Kehnley some candy. ONLY twizlers!

Bry and I went to the Coldplay concert this week. It was amazing! I mean... it was one of the best concerts I have ever seen. We love them and we have been trying to go for years, we have bought tickets every year they have been in the states, the first time the hurricane canceled it for my birthday, the second time we were sent tickets for the Dallas show on accident and didn't check the tickets til the night of the event! It was horrible, i cried so hard! :) it's so silly no looking back but i was REALLY upset. I mean i talked about it to everyone we knew for forever.

So we get there and it was awesome because Bry and I REALLY needed a night out together, surprising i know considering we have a 17 month old but we don't get to go on dates very often We ate at Hard Rock and then went to the Toyota Center, hey had already started putting up Christmas lights... it reminded me of our engagement pics and it was just a really romantic night. We needed to remember those days. The most terrible thing happened (in my world at least) my CAMERA WENT DEAD! and i had no charger... I have only ONE pic from the vent! and it was making me sick but the girl in front of me was taking awesome pictures, i asked he if she posted them on a flickr or anything... she told me just her my space ( i was like you are going to waste those good pics for freaking Myspace?! what is wrong with you!) anyway needless to say, i was pretty disappointed. I will see if I can get more pics from somewhere. But this is the one picture I took... it doesn't do the night justice even though this was the one song Bry was most excited about.

1. Work on a drawing for Nicole

2. CELEBRATE because Ans is comnig to see me Monday to Wednesday, YIPPI

3.CELEBRATE some more because I have 5 days off work!!

4. Cook and bake: I am making green bean casserole (southern living recipie 08) for moms and blowey's, pecan candies, cranberry crispy treats, chex mix, chocolate mirange pie, german chocolate pecan pie, cherry pie, and MAYBE apple pie...

5. Work on a project for Kehnley's room... I have an old window I am hanging and doing some cool stuff with I will post the pic when it's all done!

6. Run, Run, Run... Bry and I are in full training mode. We are at 5.5 miles right now.

7. Ice my knee and foot, they are really hurting (I need to see a chiropractor) if i am going to finish this training and run in January.

8. Hopefully finishing my Christmas shoping come black Friday!

9. Heping my brother get settled into him new country crib

10. Enjoy every moment I get to spend with by family and my sweet baby girl... Go is teaching me how to savor that part of life.

Very Cherry Weekend

Well WE had the honor of having the Cherry's come stay with us for the weekend, OUR FIRST OFFICIAL GUESTS in our new house. Kehnley thought they came JUST for her... Ronnie is her best bud! Even thought you can't tell from this pic lol... she loved it!

We went to the game together and just had an awesome weekend...We love the Cherry's!
